Here is a simple practice that can help you set your energy presence by ‘priming the pump.’ Thanks to my friend Sandy for sharing this! I started right away and am doing it daily now.
The idea behind Energy Priming is to enhance our energy awareness and intentionally move it toward a positive manifestation. All you have to do is choose some words, images, or objects that embody the energy you would like to feel. I chose words: Joyful Gratitude, Creative Flow, Respect, Opportunity, and Harmony. You do not need this many. You can have more. I expect that mine will change over time. I like to call them my Re-Minders.
Place your re-minders by your bedside where you will see them first thing when you wake up in the morning and right before you go to sleep at night. Focus on them, one at a time, with your breath. You can choose how many breaths and for how long. Sandy recommends “looking at the words and doing a few minutes of deep breathing while focusing on these word energies and my essential self. I breathe in through the nose to a count of 4 and out through the mouth to 6 or 8. I make sure my lower abdomen gets filled first and continues up and raises my chest also. This is according to my program leader, a PT. In addition, I have found that smiling on my inhales has helped as well.”
When I do it, I find it helpful to observe how and where the energy moves through my body during each re-minder. What is being activated? Where is it moving? After practicing in the morning and at night for a few days, I also placed my reminders where I would see them throughout the day. It’s a lot like intention-setting––it’s important to not just say the reminders, but to feel them. This is where energy shift occurs.
