Last night I watched the film “The Glass Castle”. At first it seemed like just one more memoir of abuse, a genre that has saturated the literary market almost to the point of irrelevance. In the end, however, there was a surprising reconciliation. It reminded me that one of our lessons as adults is to forgive the flaws of our parents. Of course our parents were flawed. We are flawed. Not just because of the way we were parented, but because we are all human. We are all navigating the emotional world of experience and learning.
