I sure feel this way at times. Things (humanity) seem so broken that I just feel like hiding. sigh… then I realize that I don’t have that luxury, the children they need me to do what little I can everyday. So I engage this world every day not because I think I alone can change anything but because my lesson to share is that: “he tried” and I hope it is enough.
Just yesterday I saw something that said the definition of courage was “I’m going to get up tomorrow and try again”.
This year, especially, has been hard. I can’t influence what happens in Washington DC or Syria or anywhere else so far away from my every day life. I seem to do better when I put away FB and the News––it helps me realize that those formats tend to sensationalize bad outcomes (that’s how they get views). The real picture is bigger than that.
We’re in this together! xoxox
