I get tangled up on a regular basis over what to call the focus of my writing and my work. ‘Spirituality’ is a term that means different things to different people. If you google it you often land in a silo of religion-based information specifically related to Christianity. In fact, spirituality does not belong solely to any religion or other human-made organization.

You can belong to a religion and be spiritual. You can belong to a religion and not be spiritual. You can belong to no religion and be very spiritual. In my mind, spirituality describes a relationship you intimately experience with the Universe. It’s physical, but it’s also emotional and psychic.

Spirituality is a deep acknowledgment of Life Force. A humble honoring of Creation. An unending question in the Great Mystery. It communicates a connection with All That Is. It’s expanded consciousness.

The voice of The Divine comes from within. It’s something that speaks to us and through us. Channeling and channeled writing is really just a deep connection with Inner Guidance. It’s the same voice that is amplified in Nature, amplified not only in sound but in vibrational wealth. It’s not something we can explain or measure. It’s something we accept and Love.

Spirituality is such a small word compared to all that it encompasses. When more of us are speaking this language, better words might be born. In the meantime, it’s what I use.
